Explore the creative art of building bridges between communities, cultures and hearts.
Ubuntu – an ancient African way of life that embraces hospitality, caring, compassion, cooperation and consensus-based decision making – will be used as a framework to rediscover the subtle bonds that connect us with each other, with nature and with our common destiny.
During her travels in over 20 countries in Africa, Helen Sayers experienced the beauty and wisdom of Ubuntu, which inspired her to develop an international programme and to write a training manual, now translated into 5 languages.
Helen will share her ongoing journey of discovery and will draw us into the experience of Ubuntu through reflection, discussion and creative exercises.
Currently based in France, Helen lived in Oman for nine years where she founded and directed Oasis Life-Skills Training Services, providing workshops in ethical leadership, intercultural awareness, women & youth empowerment, and Ubuntu.
Helen serves on the Advisory Board of the Association for Living Values Education International (ALIVE).
She has trained managers, teachers and students in Africa, Asia, Europe and the Middle East.
