British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Accredited Service providing free and confidential, 1–1 counselling for children and young people aged 12–25, who live in Birmingham. These clients must be referred by their Birmingham GP.
Exciting new initiative – since 1st May 2016 we are now offering LOW-COST counselling to anyone aged 26 and over. The model of therapy is Person Centred. This allows the client to explore their thoughts, feelings and life experiences with a trained Counsellor, in a safe, welcoming and professional environment.
Sessions last for 1 hour and are available for as long as the client needs.
Both day and evening appointments are available and take place at our premises in Edgbaston, Birmingham.
Training, qualifications & experience
All Counsellors are subject to DBS clearance.
They are recruited, selected and trained by the service and receive regular clinical supervision.
Our Counsellors undertake ongoing and regular continual professional development, including, Safeguarding Level 3, Domestic Violence and Safeguarding Adults.
Our Counsellors have a range of skills and knowledge, including a comprehensive knowledge of mental health, signs and symptoms and an understanding of the complexities of life for those experiencing such difficulties.
