I am a Senior Accredited psychodynamic counsellor with 20 years of counselling experience in the NHS, in organisational settings and with students at St. Anne’s College, Oxford University. After a degree in Russian and French from Bristol University, I qualified as a teacher of modern languages at King’s College, London University and taught in London. Following my post–graduate diploma in counselling from Reading University in 1994, I worked as a counsellor in Primary Care at GP surgeries in Oxfordshire and at the John Radcliffe Hospital Womens’ Centre.
In 1995 I took on the co–chair of the Oxfordshire Association of Counsellors in Primary Care. Until 2010 I worked for ISIS Counselling Associates as one of the counsellors employed by Thames Valley Police. I have studied further in Group Analytic Therapy and in Cognitive Analytic Therapy at the Warneford Hospital, Oxford and currently in Intensive Short–term Dynamic Psychotherapy (www.istdp.org.uk)
I abide by the guidelines set out in the Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (www.bacp.co.uk).
