This business is owned and run by a man named Matt. Both of these injuries involved years of pain and problems – they still show themselves from time to time, even now twenty years on.
He was therefore very interested to learn about the body, so at age 31 he went to University to study Physiotherapy. After gaining an Honours degree in Physiotherapy, he spent some time in the NHS and has been self–employed since.
He is a very hands–on Physiotherapist, but does not like those heavy–handed manipulations some Therapists specialise in. He carries out safer joint mobilization techniques, and is more than likely to utilise some kind of soft–tissue and muscle release techniques, eg massage.
He goes on courses every year to maintain and expand on his knowledge base, so essentially he gets more and more effective as time goes by. Of particular relevance, he qualified as a Sports Massage Therapist in 2008, and later an On–site massage Therapist. He used to take Nordic Walking classes as a rehabilitation tool, and is trained to teach Suspension Training (eg TRX) for rehabilitation, fitness, and toning strategies.
In 2016 he is aiming to go on more Personal Training type courses, as he would like to spend more time actively training with clients and (slightly) less time in the treatment room.
With over a decade of experience, Matt is an expert at what he does and has a treatment strategy to suit the needs of most clients.
