I specialise as a postnatal doula but am happy to support one birth every 8 weeks or so, especially if you would like to book me as your postnatal doula. This allows me to give you close attention and ’joined up’ care.
Babies don’t come with manuals is an often used phrase. And whilst this is true, there are many books out there offering all sorts of information and advice. My ideal is to help families find a path through confusing and often conflicting information and advice given by health professionals, friends, family and books.
As a postnatal doula, I will help you understand the choices on offer to you and navigate you through the information out there so you can feel confident about the way you decide to care for your baby.
I also feel it is very important to protect a family’s ’babymoon’. In the past, women often stayed in hospital for longer periods of time postpartum, so that they could be cared for and given time to recuperate from what is in no uncertain terms a momentous experience. I will empower a new family to create an environment that is conducive to rest, bonding with their baby and free from anxiety.
