My name is Abi and I have two wonderful young children, and it is since becoming a mum for the second time that I have re–evaluated my career options and have qualified through the IAIM as an Infant Massage Instructor, the course itself is accredited by the Royal College of Midwives and the Complimentary Therapists Association.charlotte
My background is in health & social care which included a teaching aspect and I feel right at home in the classroom environment. I became interested in baby massage after taking my daughter to massage classes and witnessed first hand some of the benefits of baby massage and I am glad to now be able to share this amazingly rewarding, yet simple routine with you.
The massage classes are friendly and informal, I adopt a professional but really relaxed attitude and hope that parents can feel at ease whilst gaining some knowledge of baby massage, spending quality, one to one time with baby, with the social advantage of ’getting out’ and meeting other parents.
The classes run for 1 hour over a 5 week program, I cover massage for each part of the body and discuss the principles & philosophy of the IAIM, looking at baby’s cues, behavior states, and the use of oils in baby massage, I also incorporate some reflexology and baby yoga through gentle movements to aid your learning and development.
If you have any special requirements or cannot make it to any of these classes then please contact me to discuss the option of one to one classes in your own home, or maybe you have a friend or two with babies and would prefer the relaxed environment of your home while still having the opportunity to socialise? (Although for group sessions please ensure you have enough room in your home for all of you to be on the floor to massage.)
